As a long time burgundy collector, I was thrilled to share this wine at a Leflaive tasting alongside many other vintages.

We love Italian wine and visit Italy often for food and wine. Brunello is one of my favorite wines and the 2004 vintage is stellar. Valdicava is one of my favorite producers of Brunello.

My first impression was that the style was so different from most Burgundian wines I’ve tasted. It was so earthy yet pure and clean.

This wine is a perfect expression of balance and power - with bright red fruits, earth, tar, rose and brilliant streak of mouth watering acidity.

...I vividly remember this wine capturing all of my senses. Subtle yet overpowering and with hints of wet stone, this one took me on a ride I will never forget.

...it was just as wonderful a few days ago savoring how well this delicious wine tasted after almost 40 years when cellared carefully.

It is a wine that uniquely has the ethereal texture and color of Burgundy and the intensity of Chateaneuf.

It may be the last wine I will ever drink, but what a way to go!

To my taste, it's far more complex than any other sauvignon blanc tried. It excels as both an aperitif and with food.
