A group of lively young wine collectors’ inaugurated a series of BYO wine dinners in New York. The idea behind them was to bring together industry friends for an evening of great food, wine and reverie. They pick the venue and wine theme and invite a dozen friends to join their private food and wine experience. The only requirement is that their guests bring a favorite bottle of wine and be ready to have a fun evening.
For Tuscan Treasures, they chose to do something a little different and adventurous. They ventured across state lines to Mana Contemporary to provide the perfect venue for their private wine dinner. To pair with the Tuscan cuisine, each guest was requested to bring a bottle of wine from Tuscany. Tuscany offers up a rich array of great wine sub-regions and styles from the traditional, Chianti and Brunello, to the newer wave of Super-Tuscans from emerging areas like Bolgheri and the Maremma. As always, they tasted the wines in blind flights paired with each individual courses.
